FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The time you book is the start of the game, not your arrival time. Please be there 15 minutes earlier: for the welcome, the briefing, the lockers and the restrooms.

Arriving late means losing that time from your game — bookings run back to back and we cannot push them later. From about 15 to 20 minutes late it gets difficult, and much more than that is no longer possible.

The most important thing: call us right away if you see it will be tight — +49 30 4397929548. Then we will see what can be done. We recommend checking your route beforehand; if you get lost, we will help you on the phone.

Up to 48 hours before your booking you can cancel or rebook free of charge — the number of people can also still be changed within that time. The easiest way is the link in your confirmation email. If the link does not work, just email us with your name and the booking time.

For a rebooking, please simply get in touch with us. Do not cancel yourself and then book again — otherwise your old slot is gone before the new one is confirmed.

Within the last 48 hours a cancellation is no longer possible. With your booking the room is reserved for you and blocked for other guests, so at such short notice it cannot be filled again.

Coming with fewer people is of course fine; we then charge the number of people booked. The other way round is easy: if one more person comes along, just let us know — as long as the room’s maximum is not exceeded, we simply adjust the price on site.

If a booking is not cancelled and nobody turns up, we have to charge for the game. Nothing is paid in advance with us — so we ask for this fairness.

The easiest way is to book right here on the website: pick a time slot, enter your details, done — the confirmation arrives by email straight away.

We are not on site all day; we come in for the bookings. So please book your slot online in advance — the calendar shows the times that are actually free. For last-minute slots just give us a call and we will check personally whether we can make it in time.

We are always happy to answer any further questions.

Our prices depend on the number of participants and the day of the week (see the pricing table above). All prices are per group and include statutory VAT — there are no hidden costs.

Please note: Cuba Libre is played from 3 people upwards; Dschumanji and Pirate Bay are for 2 to 4 people. You will see the exact group size for each room in the booking calendar.

You pay after the game — cash or card. Companies and groups can also pay by invoice and bank transfer; please let us know in advance. With card payment you receive a receipt, not an invoice.

For companies, school classes, clubs and larger groups we prefer to arrange the dates personally. Email us at info@escaperoom-konstanz.de or call us: +49 30 4397929548.

Our five indoor rooms have space for up to 23 people at the same time, plus Aurora with two sets. For groups we can also offer times that are not in the calendar — for example weekday mornings.

Yes, very much so — we are a family business. We have no rigid age limit: anyone who can read and write confidently can play. As a rough guide we say around 12 years, but the differences between the rooms matter more.

Especially good for families: Pirate Bay, Dschumanji and Aurora. Here even an eight-year-old can take an active part in a large share of the game — our own children went through several rooms at eight and nine.

A younger sibling who cannot yet read and write is of course welcome in the room. They do not count as a player and are not charged. Supervision stays with the parents.

Two exceptions:

  • Nightmare has a horror theme. Under 16 only if a parent plays along or waits on site.
  • Da Vinci’s Secret is not scary, but it does require general knowledge at roughly year 9 to 10 school level. It works with a ten-year-old, but a large part of the tasks assumes knowledge they have not learned yet.

Nobody is locked in. The doors are closed but not locked — anyone who wants to step out can leave the room at any time, within seconds. That applies to every one of our rooms, without exception.

It is also not about scaring anyone, but about solving puzzles together. There are no actors, no physical contact and no strobe lighting.

One exception on the scary side: Nightmare is deliberately built as a horror room — low light, a dark setting. Horror fans will find it rather mild; anyone who startles easily will find it genuinely exciting. Under 16 only with a parent.

Just wear comfortable clothing — you won’t get dirty.

No, we are no longer issuing new vouchers. Vouchers already purchased are of course still honoured until their expiry date – under German law, vouchers remain valid for 36 months (three years) from their date of issue.

We are at Line-Eid-Straße 11 in Konstanz, on the 2nd floor — and unfortunately there is no lift. The staircase is fairly narrow and winding, and the steps are of uneven height. That is down to the building, not to us, but we would rather say it in advance: anyone who cannot manage the stairs under their own power will find it hard here.

Anyone who can get up with a walking aid or with support from the group can play well with us. For guests in a wheelchair or with limited mobility we recommend Cuba Libre or Da Vinci’s Secret: those work spatially, both rooms are brighter, and both have a chair — you can stay seated and still take an active part the whole time.

Aurora, our outdoor game, can be played with a wheelchair, walker or pram, as long as the group can cover about two kilometres outdoors.

Right next to the building we have three parking spaces of our own, free for our guests. There is more free parking on the street and a car park about 100 metres away. Bus line 6 stops nearby.

A few things so nothing takes you by surprise:

  • All personal belongings go into a lockable compartment: phone, smartwatch, smart glasses and bags. That is part of the game and protects you from spoilers.
  • Food and drinks are not allowed in the room.
  • Only we take photos inside the room. After the game we are happy to photograph you – with your own camera too.
  • Pets unfortunately cannot come into the indoor rooms. Dogs are welcome at our outdoor game Aurora.
  • Playing alone is not possible: every room needs at least two people.
  • The booked time is the start of the game. Please arrive about 15 minutes earlier so we can brief you properly.
